Creating your menu with courses and dishes

How to put together the menu for your wedding, with courses, dishes and notes such as vegetarian or gluten free.

Looking forward to a wedding happens through the stomach too. In the section "Menü" (Menu) you show your guests what comes to the table on the big day, neatly sorted by course and with notes for everyone who eats vegetarian, vegan or gluten free.

Setting the heading

Under Abschnitte → Menü → "Überschrift" (Sections, then Menü, then Heading) you adjust the title (placeholder "Menü") and the subtitle (placeholder "Unser kulinarisches Angebot...").

Adding courses and dishes

  1. Open the "Gänge" (Courses) accordion and click "Gang hinzufügen".

  2. Give the course a Titel (title, "Vorspeise" for example) and choose the Typ: Vorspeise, Hauptgang, Dessert, Getränke or Sonstiges (starter, main course, dessert, drinks or other).

  3. Inside the course, click "Gericht hinzufügen" and enter the Name and Beschreibung (description).

  4. Inside the dish, under "Ernährungshinweise" (dietary notes) you can tap "Vegetarisch", "Vegan", "Glutenfrei", "Laktosefrei" or "Nussfrei". Several notes are possible, and tapping again removes one.

The header of each course shows you at a glance what is inside, "Hauptgang · 3 Gerichte" for example. A new course starts out as "Neuer Gang" with the type "Sonstiges", and a new dish appears as "Neues Gericht".

Good to know: Courses and dishes cannot be reordered afterwards. The order on your page is exactly the order in which you created them, so it is best to add them in the right sequence straight away. Deleting happens without a confirmation, so do look twice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload photos of the dishes?
No, the menu section works with text. Photos fit beautifully into the gallery.

Can my guests choose their dish?
No, the menu is display only. You learn what your guests can eat through the diet and allergy fields in the RSVP form.

Is there a field for the wine pairing?
Not as a separate field. Simply add a course with the type "Getränke" (drinks).

The page says "Noch kein Menü vorhanden".
Then there is no course with dishes yet. Add one or hide the section until there is.

The sample courses Vorspeise, Hauptgang and Dessert are only placeholders. Replace them with your real menu before you publish your page.
