Choosing fonts for your page

How to set font, size and weight for headings and body text, and find the combination that suits your celebration.

Written by Max Weber

The font helps decide whether your page feels playful, elegant or beautifully simple. That is why you can set separately for headings and for body text which font is used, how large it is and how bold it looks. You see everything in the preview right away.

Where to set the fonts

  1. Open the editor and click „Stil & Schriften“ (style and fonts) at the bottom of the left sidebar.

  2. Expand the „Schriften“ (fonts) group.

  3. There you find two areas: „Überschriften“ (headings) and „Fließtext“ (body text), each with the fields „Schriftart“ (font), „Größe“ (size) and „Stärke“ (weight).

In the new editor (beta), you find the same settings at the top under „Design“ in the „Schriften“ group.

The font

In the „Schriftart“ field, every entry is shown in its own lettering. So you can already see in the list how it looks. For headings there are 16 fonts for a wedding and 18 for a birthday, and 15 for body text. Without a choice of your own, your page uses the fonts of your design template. With the „Signatur“ (signature) design, those are Bellota Text for headings and Google Sans Flex for text.

  • Headings: Cormorant Garamond, Playfair Display, Montserrat, Josefin Sans, Libre Baskerville, Amatic SC, Dancing Script, Great Vibes, Raleway, Poppins, Lora, Merriweather, Oswald, Bebas Neue, Karla and Bellota Text, plus Fredoka One and Bubblegum Sans for a birthday

  • Body text: Outfit, Lato, Inter, Quicksand, Source Sans, Open Sans, DM Sans, Nunito, Roboto, Work Sans, Manrope, Mulish, Rubik, Karla and Google Sans Flex

New in the list are Bellota Text for headings and Google Sans Flex for body text. They are our own house fonts, which you already know from your dashboard: Bellota Text is soft and friendly, Google Sans Flex clear and easy to read. The two go well together, and this exact pair is also what our „Signatur“ design uses.

In the new editor, the list of heading fonts is sorted into „Mit Serifen“ (serif), „Ohne Serifen“ (sans serif) and „Handschrift“ (handwriting). That makes it quicker to find what suits your celebration.

A tip from experience: flowing script fonts like Great Vibes or Dancing Script look wonderful in headings, but in body text they quickly become tiring. A calm text font next to an expressive heading is almost always the lovelier choice.

The size: S, M or L

Under „Größe“ you choose between three tiles marked S, M and L. The default is M for both. The heading size applies to the headings of your sections, the body text size to paragraphs, lists and all the texts you have written. If you are expecting many older guests, L for body text is a real kindness.

The weight

Under „Stärke“ you decide how boldly the text is set. Headings are „Bold“ (default) or „Regular“, body text is „Regular“ (default) or „Light“. In the new editor the weights are called „Kräftig“ (bold) and „Normal“ for headings, and „Normal“ and „Leicht“ (light) for body text. „Regular“ for headings looks calmer and more elegant. With „Light“ for body text, it is worth taking a careful look at the mobile preview, because fine fonts quickly look faint on small screens.

Good to know: Size and weight deliberately do not affect the hero area, meaning the large picture with your names at the very top. It keeps its own carefully balanced typography, so the first impression always lands.

Frequently asked questions

Fredoka One and Bubblegum Sans are in the list. Are they available for weddings too?
No. These two playful fonts belong to the birthday templates „Bunt & Fröhlich“ (colourful and cheerful) and „Kindergeburtstag“ (children's birthday), which is why they are only offered for birthdays.

Can I upload my own font?
That is not possible at the moment. You choose from the available fonts, which all look reliable on phones and computers.

Why does the large heading at the very top not change along?
The hero area has its own layout and is not affected by size and weight. The font does change there, though.

Do I need to do anything after the change?
Saving happens automatically, but you can also click „Speichern“ (save) at the top right at any time. Your guests only see the new font once you click „Veröffentlichen“ (publish).
