Adding sections to your website

How to add new areas like the gallery, the schedule or the FAQ, and what it means when a tile says „Bereits hinzugefügt".

Written by Max Weber

Your website is made of sections: right at the top the hero with your names, below it your story, the venue, the schedule and the RSVP for example. You decide which building blocks are part of it and in which order they tell your story.

Adding a section

  1. At the bottom of the sidebar, click „Abschnitt hinzufügen" (add section) or the + to the right of the heading „Abschnitte" (sections).

  2. In the dialog „Abschnitt hinzufügen" you see all the building blocks that suit your event type as tiles, each with a name and a short description.

  3. Click the tile you want. The section lands at the end of your website and is selected right away, so you can start filling it in immediately.

New sections do not arrive empty, they come with fitting example content taken from your event details. You simply overwrite whatever does not suit you.

Inserting at a particular spot

If the new section should not go to the end: move your mouse between two sections in the preview. A small + circle appears there, and one click on it puts the new section exactly at that spot. Right at the bottom of the preview there is also the link „Abschnitt hinzufügen" (add section).

Which sections there are

  • Wedding: Hero, Geschichte, Location, Tagesablauf, Anmeldung, Menü, Galerie, Geschenke, FAQ, Übernachtung, Kontakt, Countdown, Zitat, Gästebuch, Trauzeugen (hero, your story, venue, schedule, RSVP, menu, gallery, gifts, FAQ, accommodation, contact, countdown, quote, guest book, wedding party).

  • Birthday: Hero, Über mich, Location, Tagesablauf, Anmeldung, Galerie, Wunschliste, FAQ, Countdown, Gästebuch (hero, about me, venue, schedule, RSVP, gallery, wish list, FAQ, countdown, guest book).

Why some tiles are greyed out

Each type of section can only be created once through the dialog. If it is already on your website, the tile is disabled and carries the note „Bereits hinzugefügt" (already added). If you need the same type a second time, two venue blocks for the ceremony and the party for instance, then duplicate the one you have: hover over the section in the list, open the three dot menu and choose „Duplizieren" (duplicate). The copy takes over all texts, images and settings, appears directly below the original and is selected afterwards. It is best to rename it right away so that you can tell the two apart.

Good to know: Even after adding, your guests still see nothing. New sections only go live with your next click on „Veröffentlichen" (publish).

Frequently asked questions

My preview is empty and shows „Starte mit deinem ersten Abschnitt" (start with your first section).
Then your website has no sections yet. Click the button „Abschnitt hinzufügen" (add section) and it is best to begin with the hero.

Can I get rid of a section again?
Yes. Hide it if you would like to keep the content, or delete it completely. You find both in the three dot menu of the section.

Can the hero be duplicated too?
Yes. The hero is a required section, but you can still duplicate it.
