Your birthday page is made up of individual sections that stack one below the other like building blocks. In the editor you will find them on the left in the Abschnitte (Sections) column. That is where you decide what your guests see and in which order. Designing costs nothing at all, so take your time and try things out until the page feels like you. 🎉
These ten sections are available for a birthday
Hero: the first impression, with cover image and headline
Über uns (About us): information about the host. On the page the heading reads “Über mich” (About me)
Location: where is the party happening?
Tagesablauf (Schedule): the timeline of the day, on the page “Partyablauf” (Party schedule)
Anmeldung (Sign-up): the RSVP form for your guests
Galerie (Gallery): your photo gallery
Wunschliste (Wish list): a wish list for gifts
FAQ: frequently asked questions and answers
Countdown: a countdown to the big day
Gästebuch (Guestbook): messages from your guests
Seven of them are there from the start: Hero, Über uns, Location, Tagesablauf, Anmeldung, Wunschliste and FAQ. Galerie, Countdown und Gästebuch only come along if you picked them when you set your page up. If they are missing, you can add them yourself at any time.
Adding a section
Open the editor and scroll all the way down in the Abschnitte column.
Click on “Abschnitt hinzufügen” (Add section) or on the “+” at the top right.
In the Abschnitt hinzufügen dialog, click the tile you want. The section lands at the bottom of your list.
Then drag it to the right spot and click it to fill it with your content.
Good to know: You can add each section only once. Anything already on your page is greyed out in the dialog and marked with “Bereits hinzugefügt” (Already added). If you really do need a section twice, use “Duplizieren” (Duplicate).
Sorting, hiding, copying, deleting
Reihenfolge ändern (Change the order): Grab the section by the handle with the three lines on the left and drag it up or down.
Bearbeiten (Edit): Click the section in the list and its settings panel opens. The arrow at the top left brings you back to the list.
Ausblenden (Hide): Three-dot menu on the section, then “Ausblenden”. Hidden sections look faded in the list and stay invisible for your guests. With “Einblenden” (Show) you bring them back.
Duplizieren (Duplicate): Three-dot menu, then “Duplizieren”.
Löschen (Delete): Three-dot menu, then “Löschen” and confirm the safety prompt. This cannot be undone. The Hero carries the note “Pflichtsektion” (required section) and therefore has no delete entry.
Colors for a single section
Every section has the collapsible Farben (Colors) area right at the bottom. There you set the Überschriftfarbe (heading color), Textfarbe (text color) and Hintergrundfarbe (background color) for this one section only, for example to make your Wunschliste stand out a little. The suggested colors come from the birthday design you chose, and the reset icon next to the color field brings you back to the default. The Hero works a bit differently: instead of those three fields it has its own colors for heading, text and button.
These names sometimes cause a little head-scratching
In the list it says “Über uns”, on your page the heading above it reads “Über mich”. It is the same section.
In the list it says “Tagesablauf”, on the page it says “Partyablauf”. You are free to overwrite both headings.
For a birthday the gift section is called “Wunschliste”. You will search for “Geschenke” (Gifts) in vain, that is the wedding version.
Frequently asked questions
Why can I not find sections like Geschichte, Menü or Übernachtung?
Those only exist for weddings. For a birthday you get “Über mich” and the “Wunschliste” instead, and those two are not available for a wedding.
I deleted a section. Will it come back?
The content is gone, the section itself is not. Simply add it again and you start out with the default texts.
My guests cannot see the new sections.
Changes in the editor stay private until you click “Veröffentlichen” (Publish). Only then does the new version go online.
