This is where you tell your guests who is actually celebrating. A few personal sentences, a lovely photo and, if you like, a badge showing the age, for example “30. Geburtstag” (30th birthday). This section exists for birthdays only. At weddings there is the “Geschichte” (Story) section with its timeline in its place.
Good to know: In the section list this one is called “Über uns” (About us), but on your page the heading above it reads “Über mich” (About me). So do not be puzzled, it really is the same section.
Adding your text and photo
In the editor, open Abschnitte → Über uns (Sections → About us).
Expand Inhalt (Content) and write a few lines about the birthday girl or boy in the “Beschreibung” (Description) field. You can use bold, italics, lists and links.
Below that, at “Bild” (Image), upload a photo (10 MB at most) or pick one from the “Stockfotos” (Stock photos) tab. The image is cropped square, so a portrait fits beautifully here.
Under Layout you use “Bild-Position” (Image position) to decide whether the photo sits to the left or the right of your text.
The heading is controlled in the Überschrift (Heading) area. With the “Titel anzeigen” (Show title) toggle you hide the title and subtitle completely, in case you prefer the section really plain.
Showing the age badge
In the Inhalt area you will find the “Alter anzeigen” (Show age) toggle. It is switched on from the start and shows a small badge like “30. Geburtstag”. The number for it does not come from this section but from Einstellungen → Alter (optional) (Settings → Age). If you do not enter anything there, the badge stays hidden even with the toggle switched on.
Frequently asked questions
My page says “Noch keine Informationen vorhanden” (No information yet). What is missing?
The section is still empty. As soon as you have added a text or an image, the placeholder disappears.
I do not want to show a photo.
No problem, simply leave the image field empty. Your text is then centered and still looks calm and lovely.
I changed the age later on, but the old number is still in the text.
The badge updates itself automatically, the texts you wrote yourself do not. So have a quick look at Hero, Anmeldung and Wunschliste to see whether anything needs adjusting there.
