Designing the cover image of your birthday page

How to set up the Hero section: cover image, headline, date, countdown and the “Jetzt zusagen” button.

Written by Max Weber

The Hero is the very first thing your guests see: a big image, your name, the date and a button they can use to say yes right away. For a birthday it already comes nicely prefilled, with a stock photo, the kicker “Feier mit mir!” (Celebrate with me!) and the button “Jetzt zusagen” (RSVP now). So all that is left for you is putting in your own words and your favorite photo.

Adjusting the texts

In the editor, open Abschnitte → Hero (Sections → Hero) and expand the Inhalt (Content) area.

  • Obertitel (Kicker): the small line above your name, for example “Feier mit mir!”

  • Titel (Title): the big headline, for example “Lauras 30. Geburtstag”. This field is required.

  • Untertitel (Subtitle): a sentence that gets everyone looking forward to the day

  • Datum, Uhrzeit und Ort (Date, time and place): The date is a free text field, so you can just as well write “15. Juni 2025” or “Samstag, 15. Juni”.

Using a background image of your own

  1. Expand the Hintergrund (Background) area.

  2. Set “Hintergrund-Typ” (Background type) to “Bild” (Image).

  3. Under “Hintergrundbild” (Background image), upload your photo (10 MB at most) or pick a free image from the “Stockfotos” (Stock photos) tab.

Instead of an image you can also choose “Farbe” (Color) or “Farbverlauf” (Gradient). If your text looks a little pale on top of the photo, switch on the “Overlay” toggle. It lays a soft veil over the image, and you decide its color and its strength yourself. The default setting is 35 %.

Layout, countdown and scroll arrow

  • Layout: Under Layout you choose between “Vollbild” (Full screen), “Geteilt (70%)” (Split) and “Minimal (50%)”, and you align the text horizontally and vertically.

  • Countdown: Under Funktionen (Features) you switch on “Countdown anzeigen” (Show countdown) and pick the style “Boxen” (Boxes), “Inline” or “Minimal”.

  • Scroll-Indikator: an animated arrow pointing downwards that shows your guests there is more to come.

Good to know: The countdown only counts if a Datum der Feier (date of your celebration) is saved in your settings. Once the day has passed, it reads “Es ist soweit!” (The moment is here!).

The RSVP button

In the Call-to-Action area you switch the button on or off, change the Button-Text (“Jetzt zusagen” by default) and choose the style “Button”, “Outline”, “Link” or “Mit Pfeil” (With arrow). The button always jumps to the Anmeldung section on the same page, a different destination cannot be set. So your guests land right at the form with a single click.

Colors in the Hero

The Hero has its own color fields, unlike all the other sections. Under Farben (Colors) you set Überschrift (heading), Text, Button-Farbe (button color) and Button-Textfarbe (button text color). Every field has a reset icon that brings you back to the color of your design.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not delete the Hero?
It is marked as a “Pflichtsektion” (required section), because every page needs a beginning. You are free to rebuild it completely to your taste, though.

Where is the opening animation with the envelope?
The envelopes are only available for weddings at the moment, so you will not find them for a birthday. More variants are in the works. For a wedding, the intro sits under Dashboard → Webseite (Website) in the “Umschlag-Intro” (Envelope intro) card.

My text is hard to read on the photo.
Switch on the overlay in the Hintergrund area and turn the overlay strength up until the text sits nicely. A calmer photo with plenty of open space helps too.
