128 days to go. Almost nothing builds excitement like a countdown that slowly gets smaller. The section "Countdown" counts down to your wedding day for everyone to see, quite apart from the small countdown you can also show in the cover image.
Heading and appearance
Under Abschnitte → Countdown → "Überschrift" (Sections, then Countdown, then Heading) you set the title (placeholder "Countdown") and the subtitle (placeholder "Bald ist es so weit..."). In the "Anzeige" (Display) accordion you pick the Stil (style):
"Boxen": square tiles for days, hours and minutes
"Inline": one calm line of text
"Minimal": only the remaining days
With "Boxen" and "Inline" the switches "Tage anzeigen", "Stunden anzeigen", "Minuten anzeigen" and "Sekunden anzeigen" decide what is visible (show days, hours, minutes and seconds). Seconds are off by default, which often feels calmer. With the "Minimal" style these switches disappear and you see the note "Der Minimal-Stil zeigt nur die verbleibenden Tage an."
Good to know: The countdown does not take its target date from the section but from Einstellungen → Allgemeine Einstellungen → "Datum des Events" (Settings, then General settings, then Date of the event). If it is missing, the page says "Kein Datum festgelegt" and the editor says "Setze ein Datum in den Einstellungen".
Frequently asked questions
Can I make the countdown bigger or give it a background image?
No, the size and a background image cannot be set here. In the "Farben" (Colors) accordion you can give the section its own background, heading and text color, though.
What happens after the wedding?
Then it says "Der große Tag ist da!". In the cover image the text reads "Es ist soweit!".
Do I need both countdowns?
No. Many people use either the small one in the cover image or this separate section further down. Both together works too, of course.
