Picture your guests opening the link and finding an envelope in front of them that opens up and reveals the invitation. That is exactly what the opening animation does. It is switched off by default, you turn it on with a few clicks and you can play it straight away.
How to switch the intro on
In your dashboard, click “Webseite” (Website) on the left.
Scroll down the page to the “Umschlag-Intro” (Envelope intro) card.
Tap the variant you like. That switches the intro on right away. Instead you can also flip the toggle at the top right of the card.
Under “Wie es aufgeht” (How it opens), decide between “Beim Tippen” (On tap) and “Beim Scrollen” (On scroll).
Click “Vorschau abspielen” (Play preview) below a tile and watch how the envelope opens.
Everything you change in this card is saved immediately and is immediately live on your page. You do not need to publish separately for it.
In the preview a small window opens with the name of the variant. Inside it you will find “Nochmal abspielen” (Play again) and, as long as the variant shown is not yours yet, also “Diese nehmen” (Take this one). You close the window like any other, with the cross at the top right or the Escape key.
The variants
Seven envelopes are waiting for you, from very delicate to properly festive. Creamy white paper with a green seal sits beside delicate blossom embossing with a rosé seal, dried flowers with lavender beside deep midnight blue with a golden seal, green leaf embossing beside charcoal with a wine red ribbon and kraft paper with a light blue velvet ribbon. Whether your celebration turns out light and summery or grand and glowing, one of them is bound to feel like you.
The lovely part: every envelope opens the way it looks. Where there is a seal, the wax breaks and releases the page. And where a ribbon is tied, it is untied and the two halves glide apart. So you only pick the picture, the matching movement belongs to it.
The nicest way to find yours is to watch them all once through “Vorschau abspielen” (Play preview). It takes a few minutes and it is a real joy.
How it opens
“Beim Tippen” (On tap): Your guests tap “Einladung öffnen” (Open invitation) and the envelope opens. This is the default and the most reliable choice, especially when a lot of older guests are joining you.
“Beim Scrollen” (On scroll): The envelope opens along with the scrolling movement, back and forth, until the letter is open. That feels playful and makes people want to explore.
Already chosen during setup
For a wedding, the setup wizard has the step “Wählt eure Öffnungs-Animation” (Choose your opening animation) with the envelope tiles and one tile for “Ohne Animation” (No animation). That step is optional: if you pick nothing, you start without an animation. The wizard always gives you “Beim Tippen”, and you choose the scroll variant afterwards under Dashboard → Webseite. And you can change everything there at any time anyway.
Good to know: The intro is a phone moment. It appears only on your guests’ phones; on a computer they land directly on your page. In your dashboard you only see the envelope through “Vorschau abspielen”. The preview of your page further up on the same page deliberately leaves the intro out too, so that you have your sections right in front of you. Your guests can only really experience the envelope on your published page.
Frequently asked questions
I cannot find the “Umschlag-Intro” card at all.
The envelopes are only available for weddings at the moment. That is why the card does not appear for a birthday.
I cannot set anything in the editor any more.
That is intended. In the editor under “Stil & Schriften” → “Animation” (Style & fonts → Animation) it now only tells you which intro is currently active, together with “Vorschau abspielen”. You select it under Dashboard → Webseite, because your choice goes online immediately there.
Are all the designs really unlocked for me?
Yes, all seven are open to you, at no extra cost and with no waiting list. And as soon as we finish new designs, they show up in your selection all by themselves.
Does the animation change if I switch design template?
No. The opening animation is not part of the template. The circular arrow “Auf Standard zurücksetzen” (Reset to default) in the editor leaves it untouched as well.
I want to get rid of it again.
Flip the toggle in the “Umschlag-Intro” card and your guests land straight on the page. That takes effect immediately, you do not need to publish anything for it.
