The editor is the workshop for your event page. This is where you put together, section by section, what your guests will see later: your names, your story, the flow of the day. The best part: designing costs nothing. You can try things out for as long and as often as you like.
How to open the editor
Sign in to the dashboard.
Click „Webseite“ (website) in the bar on the left.
Choose „Hochzeitsseite“ (wedding page) or „Geburtstagsseite“ (birthday page) and click the matching „Bearbeiten“ (edit) button.
For a moment „Editor wird geladen...“ (loading editor) appears, then your page is in front of you.
Under „Webseite“ you find two separate areas: your full invitation and „Save the Date“. The invitation has the tabs „Übersicht“ (overview) with status, address, plan and preview, „Umschlag-Intro“ (envelope intro) with all envelopes, and „Einstellungen“ (settings) with password protection and RSVP deadline. You open the editor from the overview.
Save the Date has its own overview with preview, status and publishing actions. „Save the Date bearbeiten“ (edit Save the Date) opens its own editor. The invitation from the AI onboarding stays separate from it. Even while your Save the Date is online for guests, the invitation editor keeps showing your wedding or birthday page.
You always edit exactly one event, namely the one you last selected in the dashboard. If you are planning several events, first switch to the right one at the top of the dashboard and then open the editor.
The three areas of the editor
Header at the top: on the left the arrow back to the overview of your website and the name of the page type you are editing, in the middle undo, redo and the Desktop/Mobile switch, on the right „Neuer Editor“ (new editor) with the label „Beta“, the question mark with the help menu, plus „Speichern“ (save) and „Einladung veröffentlichen“ (publish invitation). In the help menu you find the guide, the help center, the support chat, the cookie settings, privacy policy and legal notice.
Sidebar on the left: this is where you work. It shows either the list of your „Abschnitte“ (sections), the settings of a selected section, or „Stil & Schriften“ (style and fonts).
Live preview on the right: your page exactly as your guests will see it. Every change appears there instantly.
Switching between views
Click a section in the list or directly in the preview, and its settings open on the left.
The ← arrow next to the section name takes you back to the list. The Escape key does the same, as long as you are not typing in a text field at that moment.
„Stil & Schriften“ opens the design settings with the groups template, fonts, colours, layout, animation and language. Here too, ← takes you back.
One special point: under „Animation“ you now only see which envelope intro is currently active, plus „Vorschau abspielen“ (play preview). The intro itself is chosen and switched on or off under Dashboard → Webseite → „Umschlag-Intro“ tab, because your choice goes online there immediately.
New: the new editor to try out
At the top right of the header, right before the question mark, you find „Neuer Editor“ (new editor) with the label „Beta“. In a narrower window, you only see a small magic wand there. It takes you to our rebuilt editor, which also works on your phone. The current editor stays your default, you can switch back at any time, and your content is the same in both editors. Everything about it is in the article „Try out the new editor“.
Once you have switched to the new editor, your browser remembers it. The next time you open the editor, you land right there.
Design for free, Premium to go live
As long as you do not have Premium yet, you will find the card „Premium freischalten“ (unlock Premium) at the bottom of the sidebar. The button „Jetzt freischalten“ (unlock now) takes you to Einstellungen → Premium freischalten, where you also see the price for your event type. This unlocks publishing your page and sending invitations. Everything else in the editor, meaning sections, texts, pictures, colours and fonts, can be used fully without buying anything. As soon as your purchase is active, the card disappears.
Leaving the editor
At the top left, the arrow takes you back to the overview of your website. If changes are still open, the editor saves them first, and the same applies when you switch to the Save the Date editor. Only if saving doesn't work right then, for example because your internet is briefly gone, it asks: „Deine Änderungen sind noch nicht gespeichert“ (your changes aren't saved yet). With „Hierbleiben“ (stay here) you stay in the editor and can try again in a moment. Even if you use your browser's back button, the editor still saves your open changes.
Good to know: The editor always shows and saves your draft. Your guests see none of it until you click „Veröffentlichen“ (publish).
Frequently asked questions
Where has the „Editor“ menu item gone?
It is now called „Webseite“ (website). Behind it is the overview of your page, and the editor opens from there with „Bearbeiten“ (edit).
It says „Kein Event gefunden. Bitte erstelle zuerst ein Event.“ (no event found, please create an event first).
Then there is no event linked to your account yet. Click „Event erstellen“ (create event) and set it up in a few steps, after that the editor is ready for you.
I see the page „Editor-Fehler“ (editor error). What now?
That is usually a brief technical hiccup. Click „Erneut versuchen“ (try again). If that does not help, go back via „Zum Dashboard“ (to the dashboard) and open the editor again from there.
I received an editor link by email.
Open it on your computer. It automatically loads the right event, and the editor remembers it for your next visits. If you are not logged in, you land on the login first and then right back here.
