The editor is the workshop for your event website. Section by section you put together here what your guests will see later: your names, your story, how the day unfolds. And the lovely part: designing costs nothing. You may try things out as long and as often as you like.
How to open the editor
Sign in to the dashboard.
In the sidebar under Planung (planning), click „Webseite" (your website).
There, click „Bearbeiten" (edit).
For a moment you see „Editor wird geladen..." (loading the editor), then your website is in front of you.
The item „Webseite" used to be called „Editor". It now leads first to an overview page where you see your status, your address, your running time and a live preview of your website. From there, „Bearbeiten" takes you into the editor. The detour is on purpose: it lets you take a quick look at how your website is doing without jumping straight into designing.
You always edit exactly one event, namely the one you last selected in the dashboard. So if you are planning several events, first switch to the right one at the top of the dashboard and then open the editor.
The three areas of the editor
The header at the top: on the left „Zurück zum Dashboard" (back to the dashboard), in the middle undo, redo and the Desktop/Mobile switch, on the right the question mark for the guide as well as „Speichern" (save) and „Veröffentlichen" (publish).
The sidebar on the left: this is where you work. It shows either the list of your „Abschnitte" (sections), the settings of a selected section or „Stil & Schriften" (style and fonts).
The live preview on the right: your website exactly as your guests will see it. Every change appears there right away.
Moving between the views
Click a section in the list or directly in the preview, and its settings open on the left.
The arrow ← next to the section name takes you back to the list. The escape key does the same.
„Stil & Schriften" opens the design area with the groups Vorlage, Schriften, Farben, Layout, Animation and Sprache (template, fonts, colors, layout, animation and language). Here too, ← takes you back.
One special case: under „Animation" you only see which envelope intro is active at the moment, plus „Vorschau abspielen" (play preview). The intro itself is chosen and switched on or off under Dashboard → Webseite (your website), because your choice goes online immediately there.
Designing for free, Premium for going live
As long as you do not have Premium yet, you find the card „Premium freischalten" (unlock Premium) at the bottom of the sidebar. The button „Jetzt freischalten" (unlock now) takes you to Einstellungen → Abo (settings, subscription), where you also see the price for your event type. What it unlocks is publishing your website and sending your invitations. Everything else in the editor, so sections, texts, images, colors and fonts, is fully usable without buying anything. As soon as your purchase is active, the card disappears.
Leaving the editor again
At the top left, „Zurück zum Dashboard" (back to the dashboard) takes you out. If changes are still open, the editor asks you first: „Ungespeicherte Änderungen" (unsaved changes). In that case it is better to save first, then nothing gets lost.
Good to know: The editor always shows and saves your draft. Your guests see none of it until you click „Veröffentlichen" (publish).
Frequently asked questions
Where has the menu item „Editor" gone?
It is now called „Webseite" (your website). Behind it lies the overview of your website, and the editor opens from there with „Bearbeiten" (edit).
I see „Kein Event gefunden. Bitte erstelle zuerst ein Event." (no event found, please create an event first)
Then there is no event in your account yet. Click „Event erstellen" (create event) and set one up in a few steps, after which the editor is ready for you.
I see the page „Editor-Fehler" (editor error). What now?
That is usually a brief technical hiccup. Click „Erneut versuchen" (try again). If that does not help, go back with „Zum Dashboard" (to the dashboard) and open the editor from there again.
I received an editor link by email.
Open it on a computer. It loads the matching event automatically, and the editor remembers it for your next visits. If you are not logged in, you land at the login first and then right back here.
