Inviting your guests: by link or by email

How to find your way around the Einladungen page and decide which route to take for which guests.

Written by Max Weber

Your page is ready and your guest list is in good shape. Now comes the moment everyone has been waiting for: the invitation goes out. That is what the page Einladungen (invitations) in your dashboard is for, with the subtitle „Lade deine Gäste per Link oder per E-Mail ein.“ (invite your guests by link or by email) Those are exactly the two routes you have, and you are welcome to mix them however you like.

The two routes at a glance

  • Per Link teilen (share by link): the general link to your page, for example anna-und-max.unsere-einladung.de. Perfect for the WhatsApp group, for printed cards or for everyone whose email address you do not have.

  • Per E-Mail versenden (send by email): a personal invitation email with a greeting, your own words and a personal code for every guest. This is the only route where you can see afterwards who has already been contacted.

How to find the email area

The page is made up of two areas you can expand. „Per Link teilen“ is already expanded when you arrive, „Per E-Mail versenden“ sits below it and starts out collapsed. A click on the heading or the little arrow opens it. In there you find the key figures, your email template and your complete guest list ready for sending.

Good to know: Many people do not find the email part at first because it starts out collapsed. It only remembers its state for the current browser session, so on your next visit it is collapsed again.

What is free and what needs Premium

You can prepare everything without paying a cent: design the email template, adjust the preview for sharing, go through your guest list. As soon as you really send or share, you need Premium. Without Premium unlocked, the red note „Premium-Abo erforderlich“ (Premium required) sits at the top with the button „Jetzt freischalten“ (unlock now), which takes you straight to Einstellungen → Abo (Settings → Subscription). You pay once and your page stays online for a whole year. No subscription, no hidden costs.

Good to know: Locked buttons on this page are only greyed out and carry a small padlock. No explanation window opens. So when nothing happens as you click „Senden“ (send), Premium is almost always what is missing.

The right order

  1. Unlock Premium under Einstellungen → Abo (Settings → Subscription).

  2. Publish your page. You can read how that works in the article „Deine Seite veröffentlichen“.

  3. Send your invitations, by link, by email or both.

Good to know: Technically you can send emails before your page is published. Your guests would then click through to nothing, though. Publish first, send afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

I am planning two events. Which one is open right now?
The page always works with the event you selected last. Pick the right one at the top before you adjust or send anything.

I see „Keine Gäste“ (no guests).
Then your guest list is still empty. The button „Gäste verwalten“ (manage guests) takes you straight to your guest management, where you can add your guests.

Some guests do not have an email address. What now?
They get their invitation through the link, over WhatsApp, by text message or on a printed card. In your list you can spot them by the note „Keine E-Mail“ (no email).
