Not every invitation goes out by email. You reach many guests faster over WhatsApp, by text message or on the phone with Grandma. So your list still adds up, every guest has a personal link, and you can note down who you have already invited.
The personal invitation code
Every guest you add or import automatically gets an 8-digit code made of capital letters and numbers. Characters that are easy to mix up, such as I, O, 0 and 1, do not appear in it, so reading it out loud and typing it in both work smoothly. The code cannot be chosen by you and cannot be generated again.
Anyone who replies through their personal link is matched to the right person in your guest list automatically. Without a code, your page has no way of knowing and creates a new guest instead.
Copying the link and sending it
Open Planung → Gäste (Planning → Guests) and click the three-dot menu in that guest's row.
Choose „Link kopieren" (copy link). The confirmation „Einladungslink kopiert." (invitation link copied) tells you the link is on your clipboard.
Paste it into WhatsApp, a text message, a messenger app or your own email and send it off.
The link looks like this: https://deine-adresse.unsere-einladung.de?code=ABCD1234. If you have not set your preferred address yet, a general link is created instead. So it is best to set the address beforehand under Einstellungen → Subdomain (Settings → Subdomain).
Good to know: Your guests can only open the link once your page is published. You can read how that works in the article „Deine Seite veröffentlichen".
Marking someone as invited
If you invited someone in person, on the phone or by post, set them to „Als eingeladen markieren" (mark as invited) through the three-dot menu. That way the next time you look at your list you know who you have already reached, and this guest will not be contacted again when you send invitations in bulk later. Nothing is sent out in the process, it is just a note for you.
After that, the entries „Per E-Mail einladen" (invite by email), „Link kopieren" and „Als eingeladen markieren" disappear from the menu. Instead you see „Einladung zurücksetzen" (reset invitation). That marks the guest as not invited again, so you can still send them an email after all. The dates for sending and opening are removed from their history in the process.
What about the invitation by email?
You can invite people by email straight from your guest list too, one at a time through „Per E-Mail einladen" in the three-dot menu or all together through the button at the top right, which shows you how many invitations are still open. For that the guest needs an email address on file, and you need Premium. Without active Premium the dialog „Premium freischalten" (unlock Premium) opens and takes you to Einstellungen → Abo (Settings → Subscription). Everything about the template, the sending and the reminders lives in the Einladungen (invitations) area.
Frequently asked questions
„Link kopieren" is missing from the menu for one guest.
Then they already count as invited. „Einladung zurücksetzen" brings the actions back.
My companions do not have a link.
That is right, companions that were added automatically and guests who signed up without a code do not get a code of their own. They reply through their main guest, or they have already replied.
Can a guest change their reply later?
Yes, as long as they still have their personal link. They simply fill in the form again and the new reply replaces the old one.
