Not every guest has an email address, and sometimes the family group chat is simply quicker. That is exactly what the tab „Per Link teilen“ (share by link) on the page Einladungen (invitations) is for. Your page address sits there, for example anna-und-max.unsere-einladung.de, ready to be copied and sent.
What you need for it
An address you have chosen. You pick it under Einstellungen → Subdomain (Settings → Subdomain). If it is missing, you see „Noch keine Subdomain konfiguriert“ (no subdomain set up yet) and everything is locked.
A published page. Otherwise nothing opens for your guests.
Premium, because you need it to publish and to share.
Copying the link
Click „Kopieren“ (copy) next to the address. The button briefly changes to „Kopiert“ (copied) and the link is on your clipboard. From there you can paste it anywhere you like: into a message, into an email, into a document for your printed cards.
Sending it on right away
Below that you will find ready-made buttons for WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS and Facebook. One click opens the service in question with a prepared text made of your title, description and link. Before you send it, you can of course make the text your own.
On your phone the button „Mehr“ (more) appears as well. It lets you use your device's own share menu, so AirDrop, Signal or your mail app, for example.
Good to know: This link is the general one without a personal code. Anyone who says yes through it is added to your list as a new guest. If someone is already in your guest list, it is better to send them their personal link through Gäste → Link kopieren (Guests → copy link). Then their reply lands with the right name straight away.
The link for guests without a plus-one
Just below it, the same address appears a second time, headed „Link für Gäste ohne Begleitung“ (link for guests without a plus-one). You copy it with one click as well. Anyone who comes to your page through this link will not see a plus-one field in the RSVP form and simply signs up for themselves. The RSVP heading switches to the singular there too, so a guest invited on their own is not greeted with a question addressed to a couple. If you would rather use your own words, enter them in the editor in the RSVP settings under „Titel für Allein-Eingeladene“ (title for guests invited on their own) and „Beschreibung für Allein-Eingeladene“ (description for guests invited on their own). The reply deadline works just the same. In German the standard note switches to the singular by itself through this link, and in English it reads „Please reply by“ either way. For your own wording there is the field „Deadline-Text für Allein-Eingeladene“ (deadline text for guests invited on their own) in the editor under Deadline. If you have already worded your deadline text yourself, it stays exactly as it is. And no need to worry, the link itself gives nothing away, your guests will not notice which of the two they received.
It is meant for everyone who is invited on their own: friends from your sports club, colleagues, the neighbour next door. So you no longer have to write in your message that the invitation is for one person only.
Good to know: This second link is a friendly nudge, not a lock. Anyone who gets hold of the normal address somewhere else will see the field again. If it really has to be binding, invite them through the personal invitation emails instead. There, exactly what you set for that guest under „Plus One erlauben“ (allow a plus-one) applies, and the RSVP form sticks to it.
When the buttons are greyed out
Then one of the requirements is missing. If the tab „Per Link teilen“ shows the golden note „Deine Seite ist noch nicht veröffentlicht“ (your page is not published yet), publish it in the editor first. If the bar at the top says „Premium erforderlich“ (Premium required), unlock it through „Jetzt freischalten“ (unlock now) under Einstellungen → Abo (Settings → Subscription). After that, copying and sharing work right away.
Frequently asked questions
What does the message look like for my guests?
The title, the description and the preview image come from your sharing preview. You can read how to adjust them in the article „Die Vorschau beim Teilen anpassen“.
Can I put the link on printed cards?
Yes, please do. The address is short enough to type out, so it is worth picking something simple for your subdomain. Even easier for your guests is the QR code in the tab of the same name, which you will find in the article „QR-Code für deine Karten“.
Can my guests see who else is invited?
No. Everyone only sees your event page, never your guest list.
