Your page is fully designed, the photos are in place, the texts sound just like you? Then here comes the loveliest moment: publishing. While you are designing, your page is only visible to you. Only when you publish your Save the Date or your invitation does it go online under your own address, for example anna-und-max.unsere-einladung.de. From then on your guests can open it, fall in love with it and reply right away.
Your preview, before anyone else sees anything
You don't have to buy anything to look at your page. The „Vorschau" (preview) button on the dashboard overview opens your page exactly as it currently looks as a draft, full size and with everything that goes with it. Only you can see it while you are logged in; a small note at the bottom reminds you of that. In the preview, the forms are just for looking: your guests will be able to reply normally later, but you won't accidentally sign yourself up while testing. For everyone else the address shows „Bald verfügbar" (coming soon) until you publish.
What you need first
Your preferred address: You set it under Einstellungen → Subdomain (Settings → Subdomain). It is often already reserved for you from when you signed up.
Premium: Designing is completely free, for as long as you like. You only need Premium for publishing. You pay once for your term of one or two years. For a wedding, one year costs 89 € instead of 149 € and two years 129 € instead of 219 €, for a birthday, one year is 49 € instead of 79 € and two years 79 € instead of 109 €. All prices include VAT, and the introductory discount is deducted automatically. No subscription, no hidden costs.
How your page goes live
You can put your page live in three places, and the steps are the same everywhere: in the editor at the top right, under Dashboard → Webseite (website) and under Einstellungen → Subdomain (Settings → Subdomain). Simply take whichever way you are on anyway.
Open the editor and click „Einladung veröffentlichen" (publish invitation) at the top right.
If you have not chosen an address yet, your changes are saved and you land at Einstellungen → Subdomain first.
If you don't have Premium yet, your changes are saved automatically and you land at Einstellungen → Premium freischalten (Settings → unlock Premium). There you choose your term and pay. The checkout runs in German and your invoice arrives automatically by email.
After the payment, the confirmation „Zahlung erfolgreich!" (payment successful) welcomes you in your settings. Your page is not visible to your guests yet. You decide yourself when the time has come.
Set your address under Einstellungen → Subdomain with „Subdomain speichern" (save subdomain), if it is not settled yet. Take your time with it, because it is locked once you have published.
Decide what your guests see first under this address: your Save the Date or your whole invitation right away. For the Save the Date, click „Save the Date veröffentlichen" (publish Save the Date) under Webseite → Save the Date, for your invitation „Einladung veröffentlichen" (publish invitation). This is it: your page is live and your link is waiting for its first click. 🎉
Good to know: Buying alone does not make your page visible yet. Only when you publish your Save the Date or your invitation can your guests open it under your address. The easy way via Dashboard → Webseite
In the dashboard you will find the „Webseite" (website) item on the left. In the „Übersicht" (overview) tab, everything for going live is in one place: a live preview you can switch between phone and laptop, your address with a copy button, your term and a badge that tells you where you stand. It shows „Einladung live" (invitation live), „Entwurf" (draft), „Änderungen warten" (changes waiting) or „Offline". If your Save the Date is currently in front, it says „Gerade nicht sichtbar" (not visible right now).
The button for going live is right next to it. Before the first time it is called „Einladung veröffentlichen" (publish invitation), later „Einladung aktualisieren" (update invitation) as soon as new changes are waiting. The steps are exactly the same as in the editor, including the question if your English version is not up to date yet. Once your page is online, „Seite ansehen" (view page) takes you straight to it, and „Bearbeiten" (edit) opens the editor.
The nice part: this page works on your phone too, so you can publish on the go. You can design on your phone with our new editor, which is in beta right now: just tap „Neuen Editor öffnen" (open the new editor). Rather work on a computer? Then „Link per Mail schicken" (send link by email) sends you the link there.
And as before, it also works via Einstellungen → Subdomain with „Einladung veröffentlichen" (publish invitation). There you can then see at a glance that everything is running: the green „Online" badge, your link for sharing and how long your page will stay online.
Want to change something later?
No problem, that is exactly how it should be. You can keep working on your page at any time. Your guests see none of it until you click „Einladung veröffentlichen" (publish invitation) or „Einladung aktualisieren" (update invitation) again. Only then does the new version go online, together with your design and, if switched on, the translations. The changes are visible to everyone straight away.
Frequently asked questions
The publish button is greyed out. Why?
Then everything there is is already online. There are no new changes. In that case Dashboard → Webseite also shows the sentence „Alles, was du gestaltet hast, ist schon live." (everything you designed is already live). As soon as you change something, the button becomes active again.
I can see my page, but my sweetheart can't. Why?
You are logged in and see your private preview. Everyone else only sees the page once it is unlocked and published. To double-check, simply open the link in a private window.
I cancelled the payment. What now?
All good. Your page and all your work are kept in full. You can restart the purchase in your own time at any point under Einstellungen → Premium freischalten (Settings → unlock Premium).
Can I take my page offline again?
Yes, at any time under Einstellungen → Subdomain with „Seite offline nehmen" (take page offline). All content, guests and replies stay saved. You can even change the address afterwards and publish again later.
Do I have to publish the envelope intro or the password protection too?
No. Both live under Dashboard → Webseite in the „Umschlag-Intro" (envelope intro) and „Einstellungen" (settings) tabs and are online as soon as you save them.
What happens when my term ends?
Your public page then shows „Bald verfügbar" (coming soon) and your draft stays safely kept. When you are logged in, you still see it as your private preview. If you like, you simply renew and your page is there for everyone again.
