With us, you decide what happens in your browser. Our support chat only loads when you start it, and we only set cookies for analytics and marketing if you agree. Here you can read where to find both and how to change your choice at any time.
How to start the chat
Our round chat bubble sits at the bottom right: in the dashboard, on the floor plan of your seating plan, when you sign in and while you set up your event.
Click the chat bubble. The window „Schreib uns im Chat“ (write to us in the chat) opens.
Take a moment to read what happens when it starts. For the chat we load the messenger of our service provider Intercom. In the process, your IP address and details about your browser go to Intercom, including to the USA. If you are signed in, your name, your email address and details about your event are added, so that we can help you without asking back. Intercom sets cookies for this.
Click „Chat starten“ (start chat). The chat loads and opens right away.
If you would rather not use the chat, click „Lieber per E-Mail“ (rather by email). Your email program then opens with our address [email protected].
Good to know: Once you have started the chat, your browser remembers it. On your next visit the chat is therefore ready straight away, without us asking again. Instead of our bubble, you will then see Intercom's chat button at the bottom right.
In the editor of your invitation
There is no chat bubble in the editor, so that it does not get in your way while you design. There you reach the chat like this:
On a computer: Click the question mark at the top right and choose „Support-Chat“ in the help menu.
On phones and tablets: Tap „Support-Chat“ at the bottom of the card „Bearbeitung nur am Computer möglich“ (editing only possible on a computer).
In the new editor (beta) on your phone: Tap „Mehr“ (more) in the bar at the bottom and then „Support-Chat“. On a computer you find it there as usual in the help menu behind the question mark.
On the page for your translations: There, „Support-Chat“ sits at the very bottom of the page.
If you have not started the chat yet, the same window as at the bubble appears first. If you have already agreed, the chat opens directly.
If the chat does not load
Some browser extensions, ad blockers for example, block the connection to Intercom. The window then shows the note „Der Chat lässt sich gerade nicht laden.“ (the chat cannot be loaded right now) and offers you the way by email. If the window is closed at that moment, you can tell by a small dot on the bubble.
In that case, simply write to us at [email protected], we are just as happy to help. If you would rather chat, allow our site in your extension and reload the page.
Your cookie settings
On your first visit, our cookie banner asks which cookies we may set. You can change your answer at any time. You find the „Cookie-Einstellungen“ (cookie settings) here:
on our website at the very bottom in the footer
when setting up your event and when signing in, at the bottom of the page
in the dashboard at the end of every page, and under Einstellungen → Account in the card „Datenschutz und Cookies“ (privacy and cookies) with the button „Cookie-Einstellungen öffnen“ (open cookie settings)
on the floor plan of your seating plan at the very bottom, in the line with Impressum (legal notice) and Datenschutz (privacy)
in the editor in the help menu behind the question mark at the top right, on phones and tablets at the bottom of the editor's card, in the new editor on your phone under „Mehr“ (more), and on the page for your translations at the very bottom
The window has four areas, each with a toggle:
Notwendig (necessary): we need these so that the site works at a basic level, for example for your sign-in, for forms and for saving your event. This area is always on.
Analyse (analytics): helps us understand how our site is used, with Google Analytics and our own measurement, for example how far you scroll.
Marketing: allows us to show suitable ads on Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and in ChatGPT and to measure their success.
Support-Chat: loads the chat of our service provider Intercom, so that you can write to us directly in the app.
„Auswahl speichern“ (save selection) applies your toggles. „Nur Notwendige“ (necessary only) switches off analytics, marketing and the support chat in one go.
Good to know: Google Analytics only loads once you have agreed to „Analyse“ or „Marketing“. Before that, your browser sends nothing to Google Analytics.
Switching the support chat off again
Open the „Cookie-Einstellungen“, for example under Einstellungen → Account.
Switch off „Support-Chat“.
Click „Auswahl speichern“ (save selection).
The chat then ends immediately, and we delete Intercom's cookies and entries in your browser. Your previous conversations with us stay stored with us. For how long is written in our privacy policy. If you want to use the chat again later, simply click „Chat starten“ again or switch „Support-Chat“ back on in the cookie settings.
Frequently asked questions
I agreed to all cookies. Why does the chat ask again?
The support chat has its own consent. Your yes in the cookie banner applies to analytics and marketing. You start the chat yourself with „Chat starten“ or with the „Support-Chat“ toggle in the cookie settings.
The chat used to open right away. Why is there a window before it now?
We only load the chat once you decide to. Before that, your browser does not connect to Intercom, and Intercom sets no cookies. Once started, your browser remembers your choice.
I cannot find a chat on your home page.
That is right, there is no chat on the pages of our website, such as the home page or the blog. You find it in the dashboard, on the floor plan of your seating plan, when signing in and when setting up your event. Or you simply write to us at [email protected].
Do my guests see the chat or a cookie banner?
No. On your event page there is neither a chat nor a cookie banner, your guests come straight to your invitation.
Does my choice apply on all devices?
No, it applies in the browser in which you make it. On another device, in another browser or after you have deleted your browsing data, we ask you again.
