“So what would you like?” You get asked that twenty times before every birthday. Your Wunschliste (Wish list) answers it once and for all: concrete ideas with an image, a price and a link to the shop, plus your bank details for money gifts if you like. This section exists for birthdays only. At weddings the counterpart is called “Geschenke” (Gifts) and does not know individual wishes.
Adding a wish
Open Abschnitte → Wunschliste (Sections → Wish list) and expand Wünsche (Wishes).
Click on “Wunsch hinzufügen” (Add wish).
Fill in the fields: Name (for example “Bluetooth-Lautsprecher”), Beschreibung (description), Preis (price) and Link to the shop.
Add a Bild (image), either uploaded or from the stock photos. It is cropped square.
The price is a free text field. So you can write “ca. 50€” or “zwischen 20 und 30 Euro”, exactly the way it feels right to you. The arrows in the header sort your wishes, the bin icon deletes one. On your page they show up as a grid of tiles, and wherever you have added a link, your guests see the “Ansehen” (View) button.
Money gifts: showing your bank details
Expand Bankverbindung (Bank details) and switch on “Bankverbindung anzeigen” (Show bank details). Then you fill in Kontoinhaber (account holder), IBAN, BIC, Bank and Verwendungszweck (payment reference). Fields you leave empty are automatically hidden on the page. Your guests can copy any value to their clipboard with a click on the copy icon, which spares everyone typos in the IBAN.
Good to know: Unlike at a wedding, the bank details are switched off and empty by default for a birthday. So they only appear once you deliberately switch them on and fill them in.
PayPal and external wish lists
In the Weitere Optionen (More options) area you have two additional ways:
PayPal: switch it on, then enter your PayPal.me link.
Externe Wunschliste (External wish list): switch it on, then add the link to your list at Amazon or another shop. You can choose the button text freely, the default is “Zur Wunschliste” (To the wish list).
Frequently asked questions
I cannot find the “Geschenke” section.
For a birthday it is called “Wunschliste”. It can do everything the wedding gifts section can, plus individual wishes with an image and a price.
Can my guests reserve a wish so that it is not bought twice?
That is not possible yet, there is no toggle for it in the editor. If it matters to you, a sentence in the description helps, for example asking people to drop you a quick message.
Do I have to enter wishes at all?
No. You can also just leave the intro text and switch on your bank details. Or you hide the whole section through the three-dot menu if gifts are not important to you.
