You do not have to worry about your work in the editor. It saves along all by itself, and you can see the state of things at the top right at any time.
Saved automatically
Three seconds after your last change, the editor stores your draft on its own. So there is nothing for you to do while you write texts, swap images or try out colors.
Saving yourself
If you want to be on the safe side, click „Speichern" (save) at the top right or press Cmd/Ctrl + S. The confirmation „Änderungen gespeichert" (changes saved) appears briefly.
What the button tells you
„Speichern" (save): there are changes that have not been stored yet.
„Speichern..." (saving): the editor is storing them right now.
„Gespeichert 14:32" (saved at 14:32): everything is stored. The button is then disabled and shows you the time of the last save. Now you can leave the editor with an easy mind.
Good to know: Only ever your draft is saved. Your guests see your changes once you click „Veröffentlichen" (publish).
Frequently asked questions
„Speichern fehlgeschlagen" (saving failed) appears. What do I do?
Usually your internet connection has hiccuped for a moment. Check your connection and click „Speichern" (save) again. Do not close the tab while the message is showing, otherwise your latest changes are gone.
I want to close the tab and my browser warns me.
This warning only comes up when something is still unsaved. Go back and save. As soon as the button says „Gespeichert ..." (saved ...), you can close safely.
Do I have to save separately before publishing?
No. When you click „Veröffentlichen" (publish), the editor takes your open changes along.
My changes are not showing on the live website even though everything is saved.
Saving and publishing are two different things. Your draft is stored, but for your guests only the click on „Veröffentlichen" (publish) counts.
