An idea for your website just came to you and all you have in your hand is your phone? You can look at your website there at any time, but sadly not edit it. The interplay of sidebar and live preview needs room, which is why the editor only feels at home from a screen width of about 1024 pixels.
What works on your phone anyway
The menu item „Webseite" (your website) is fully usable on your phone. There you see your status, your address with a copy button, your running time and a live preview of your website. You can publish from there too, and change the envelope intro and the password protection as well. Only the designing itself needs the big screen, and for that the same page says „Zum Gestalten brauchst du einen größeren Bildschirm. Wir schicken dir den Link gern per Mail." (for designing you need a bigger screen, we are happy to send you the link by email) with the button „Link per Mail schicken" (send the link by email).
What you see in the editor on your phone
If you open the editor itself on a smaller screen, you get the complete preview of your website in full screen. So you can scroll through it calmly and see how everything feels. Fixed at the bottom sits the card „Bearbeitung nur am Computer möglich" (editing is only possible on a computer).
Sending the editor link to yourself
On the card, tap „Link an E-Mail senden" (send link by email).
The button changes to „Wird gesendet…" (sending) and then to „E-Mail gesendet ✓" (email sent ✓).
Open the email on your computer. The link takes you straight into the editor, and to the right event.
The email goes to the address you signed in with. If „Bitte erst einloggen." (please sign in first) appears, sign in quickly and try again. With „Senden fehlgeschlagen" (sending failed) a second attempt usually does the trick. By the way, „Link per Mail schicken" (send the link by email) under Dashboard → Webseite sends you exactly the same email.
Good to know: The limit is a screen width of 1024 pixels. A tablet in portrait mode therefore falls below it too. Turn it sideways or take a laptop, then the full editor is at your disposal.
Frequently asked questions
Sections are missing in the preview on my phone.
Only sections that are shown appear there, exactly as on your public website. Hidden ones do not turn up.
Can I switch between German and English on my phone?
The mobile preview always shows the German version. The language preview sits in the sidebar and therefore only exists in the editor on a computer.
I only want to quickly fix a typo while I am out.
That needs the big screen as well. Send yourself the link to your email address, then you are in the right place at home with two clicks.
Can I at least publish while I am out?
Yes. Open Dashboard → Webseite and tap „Veröffentlichen" (publish) or „Aktualisieren" (update) there. That works from the sofa too.
