Most of your guests will open the invitation on their phone, but many on a computer too. That is why a quick look at both views is worth it at the end of every design round. It takes two minutes and spares you the question „Does this look good for everyone?“.
Switching between Desktop and Mobile
In the top bar of the editor sits the switch „Desktop“ and „Mobile“. Every design change shows up in the preview instantly, there is nothing extra to load. These are the things worth checking:
Do long headings fit on one line, or do they wrap awkwardly? Script fonts need more room.
Is body text set to „Light“ or size S still pleasant to read on a phone?
Are the buttons large enough to tap safely with your thumb?
Does the button label stand out clearly from the button colour?
Do sections with their own colours still look harmonious in their order?
Taking something back
Next to the switch you find the arrows „Rückgängig (⌘Z)“ (undo) and „Wiederholen (⌘⇧Z)“ (redo). With them you can also take back a change of template or a colour experiment that did not work out. This works as long as you have not reloaded the editor.
Saving and publishing
Click „Speichern“ (save) at the top right. Afterwards the button shows „Gespeichert HH:MM“ (saved HH:MM). If it is greyed out, you have not changed anything that needs saving.
Click „Veröffentlichen“ (publish) so that your guests see the new version. If this button is greyed out, everything is online already. You find all the details in the article „Publishing your page“.
Designing itself is and stays free of charge. You only need Premium so that your page becomes publicly visible.
Good to know: The current editor can only be used on a computer. On phones and tablets you see the preview there and the card „Bearbeitung nur am Computer möglich“ (editing only possible on a computer). With the button „Link an E-Mail senden“ (send link by email) you send yourself the editor link and carry on later at your laptop in peace. Or you tap „Neuen Editor ausprobieren (Beta)“ (try the new editor) on the card, because the new editor works on your phone too.
Frequently asked questions
The colours on the live page look a little different from the preview.
That can happen when your palette and the text or button colours you set individually are far apart. On the published page, the main colour and the text colour of your palette have the final say. You can read more in the article „Setting the colours of your page“.
My changes are gone after reloading.
Then they had not been saved yet. After a design round, always click „Speichern“ once before closing the tab.
Can I show my page to someone before publishing?
The preview in the editor is just for you. The best way is to look at your screen together. The page only becomes publicly visible once you publish.
