On the right of the editor runs the live preview. It shows your page the way your guests will see it, and it updates instantly with every change. Since most of your guests will open the invitation on their phone, it is worth looking at both views.
Switching between desktop and phone
In the middle of the header sits the switch „Desktop“ / „Mobile“. Desktop shows your page at a width of 1280 pixels, Mobile at 430 pixels, so really the way it looks on a phone and not just squeezed narrower. Before publishing, go through the mobile view once at your leisure: how do your headings wrap, do the pictures sit nicely, is the RSVP button easy to tap?
Switching is purely a matter of view. Nothing about your page changes, and the setting is not saved either.
Editing right in the preview
Hover over a section. A label with its title appears at the top left, together with a coloured frame.
A click selects the section and opens its settings on the left. That is often quicker than going through the list.
When you select a section in the list, the preview scrolls there automatically.
The Escape key clears the selection again and takes you back to the list of sections. That works as soon as your cursor is no longer in a text field.
Hidden sections in the preview
Sections you have hidden appear pale and carry the note „Ausgeblendet“ (hidden). You can still click and edit them, but they do not show up on your public page.
Good to know: If your browser window is narrower than the simulated device width, the editor scales the preview down. The text then looks smaller than it really is. Simply drag the window wider, and the impression is right again.
Frequently asked questions
The text looks tiny in the preview. Is it that small on the real page too?
As a rule, no. That is the preview being scaled down in a narrow window. Make your browser wider, or look at your page directly at your own address after publishing.
Can I show my page to someone before publishing?
The preview lives in the editor and only you can see it. Your page only becomes publicly reachable when you publish.
