These are the emails you get from us

Which messages arrive automatically after you sign up, what the reserved address is about and what to do when nothing arrives.

Written by Max Weber

So that you do not miss anything, we get in touch by email a few times around your start. Do not worry, it is only a handful of messages, and here is what they mean.

Right when you create your event

  • Your confirmation code: The message Dein Bestätigungscode für Unsere Einladung holds the 6 digits you use to confirm your address.

  • Your preferred address: Shortly after your event is created, we confirm that your address is reserved for you, at first for 30 days.

Friendly reminders

If your website is not published yet, we give you two gentle nudges: one day after you created it and once more after a week. As soon as your website is live, these reminders stop by themselves.

On top of that we remind you 15 days and 3 days before the reservation of your preferred address runs out, so that it does not slip away unnoticed.

If you would rather not get these reminders, that is completely fine. As long as you have not bought a term yet, every one of them says „Du möchtest keine Erinnerungen mehr?“ (no more reminders?) at the very bottom, with the link „Hier abmelden“ (unsubscribe here). It opens a short page where you confirm with the button „Abmelden“ (unsubscribe). You do not need to log in for it. Many email programs also show their own unsubscribe button for these emails, and it works the same way. After that we send you neither these reminders nor our newsletter. If you already unsubscribed from the newsletter earlier, you do not get these reminders either. Emails about your account, a purchase, your term and your guests still reach you. You can see how long your address is still reserved for you at any time under Einstellungen → Subdomain (settings, subdomain), even without a reminder.

Once you have bought a term, the two nudges are part of your purchase. They then arrive as usual, just without the unsubscribe link.

Good to know: The 30 days only concern the address, not your work. Your website with all its texts, images and guests stays as it is. If your preferred address has been taken in the meantime, you simply choose a new one under Einstellungen → Subdomain (settings, subdomain).

When the two of you plan together

If you invite someone to plan with you (Einstellungen → Gemeinsam planen, Settings → plan together), that person gets an email with the button „Einladung ansehen“ (view invitation). If you hand your event over to them later, they get a short email about that too.

The emails about new replies, guest photos and guestbook entries are something each of you sets for yourself, and for the person planning with you they are on at the start. The friendly reminders above, the emails about the term, the address and the reservation, and the purchase receipts only go to the person who manages the event.

When no email arrives

  1. Have a look in your spam folder, automatic messages end up there sometimes.

  2. Check under Einstellungen → Account (settings, account) which address is stored in your account. Typos happen quickly.

  3. For the confirmation code you can request a new one with „Erneut senden" (send again) after a short wait.

Frequently asked questions

Do I also get a message when guests accept?
Yes, and you control that separately under Einstellungen → Allgemein (settings, general) at the email notifications. At the bottom of each of these emails, the link „Benachrichtigungen ändern“ (change notifications) takes you straight to the switches for this event.

Do my guests get these emails too?
No. The messages here only go to you as the host. Your guests only hear from you once you send out your invitations.

Can the reminders stop?
As soon as your website is published, we stop sending any getting started reminders. As long as you have not bought a term yet, you can also unsubscribe from them yourself at any time: with the link „Hier abmelden“ (unsubscribe here) at the very bottom of the email and the button „Abmelden“ (unsubscribe) on the page behind it.

I unsubscribed and would like to hear from you again after all.
Sign up again under Einstellungen → Newsletter (settings, newsletter) and confirm briefly by email. After that you get news from us again, along with any reminders that are still due.
