Your page gets its own address on the web, and you decide what it is called. For example anna-und-max.unsere-einladung.de. This is exactly the link you will send to your guests later, so it may well sound like the two of you.
How to set your address
Open Einstellungen → Subdomain (Settings → Subdomain). There you will find the card „Deine Event-Seite" (your event page).
Type the name you would like into the field „URL deiner Seite" (your page URL). The ending .unsere-einladung.de is fixed and gets added automatically.
Wait a moment for the status. „Prüfe Verfügbarkeit..." (checking availability) turns into either „Verfügbar" (available) or „Diese Adresse ist bereits vergeben" (this address is already taken).
Click „Subdomain speichern" (save subdomain) as soon as you are happy with the name.
When you set everything up for the first time, the wizard already asks for your preferred name in the „Subdomain" step. You can calmly change it afterwards, as long as your page is not published yet.
Which names are allowed
Length: at least 3 and at most 30 characters.
Characters: letters, numbers and hyphens. A hyphen may not sit at the beginning or at the end.
Umlauts and special characters: are rewritten automatically. ä becomes ae, ö becomes oe, ü becomes ue, ß becomes ss. Spaces and special characters turn into hyphens, and everything is written in lower case.
Reserved addresses: A few names belong to the system, such as app, www, admin or editor. In that case „Diese Adresse ist reserviert" (this address is reserved) appears and you simply pick another one.
If something does not fit, the field tells you straight away, for example with „Mindestens 3 Zeichen" (at least 3 characters), „Maximal 30 Zeichen" (30 characters at most) or „Nur Buchstaben, Zahlen und Bindestriche (nicht am Anfang/Ende)" (letters, numbers and hyphens only, not at the start or the end).
Good to know: As soon as your page is published, the field is locked: „Die Subdomain kann nicht geändert werden, solange deine Seite veröffentlicht ist." (your subdomain cannot be changed while your page is published). So take your time over the name beforehand. You can still switch later, you just take your page offline for a moment.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own domain, for example anna-und-max.de?
No, your page always lives under unsere-einladung.de. In return you never have to worry about anything technical, your address works right away and securely.
I cannot see a save button. Why is that?
Trying names out and checking them is free. To save and publish you need Premium. Without active Premium you will see the note „Du benötigst ein Premium-Abo, um deine Seite zu veröffentlichen." (you need a Premium plan to publish your page) with the button „Premium freischalten" (unlock Premium).
Do upper and lower case matter?
No. Whatever you type is turned into lower case automatically, so your guests can type the link however they like.
