How your guests reply on your page

What your guests experience in the reply form, where their answers land and how you correct a reply afterwards.

Written by Max Weber

The loveliest moment after publishing is the first yes. Your guests do not have to install anything or sign up anywhere: they open your link, scroll to the Anmeldung (reply) section and answer right there on the page.

What your guests see

First the question „Nimmst du teil?" (are you coming?) with the answers „Ja" (yes) and „Nein" (no). If you allowed „Noch unsicher" (still unsure) in the editor, „Vielleicht" (maybe) joins them. Then they fill in the fields you switched on and send everything off with „Anmeldung absenden" (send reply) or „Absage senden" (send your regrets). At the end your own confirmation text appears, the one you wrote yourself.

What you set up beforehand

In the editor you open the Anmeldung section for this. There you decide:

  • Heading and description, so how you speak to your guests.

  • Which fields you ask for, for example email, phone, plus one, children, diet, allergies, song request, overnight stay, shuttle or a free message field.

  • Deadline, so by when you would love to hear back.

  • Confirmation texts for a yes and for a no.

Where the answers land

Every reply moves into your Gästeliste (guest list) automatically. If someone says yes and brings a plus one, the matching entries are created right along with it. You also get a notification through the bell in your dashboard and, if you switched that on under Einstellungen → Allgemein (Settings → General), an email as well.

Good to know: Your guests cannot correct their answer themselves. On a second attempt they see „Du hast dich bereits angemeldet. Eine erneute Anmeldung ist nicht möglich." (you have already replied, replying again is not possible). If someone comes to you with a change, you simply adjust it in your guest list.

Frequently asked questions

Does the form close automatically after the deadline?
No, the date is only shown. So latecomers can still reply.

Can I test the reply form myself?
Please do, it is a good idea. Real replies only work through your published page. Send yourself the link, fill in the form and see whether your entry appears under Gäste (Guests). You can delete the test entry afterwards.

A guest shows up twice. How can that be?
Anyone who answers without their personal invitation link is matched by name. If the spelling is a little different, a new entry is created. It is best to send your guests their personal link from your guest list, then the match always fits.
