Replies: all of your guests' answers in one timeline

How to read through, in order and on one page, who accepted, with how many people, what your guests wrote to you and who changed their answer later on.

Written by Max Weber

There is hardly anything lovelier in all your planning than checking in the evening to see who accepted today. That is exactly what the page Rückmeldungen (replies) is for. It shows every reply as a card in a timeline, with the newest one right at the top.

What a card tells you

  • the guest's name and initials

  • a coloured label saying „Zusage" (accepted), „Absage" (declined) or „Vielleicht" (maybe)

  • the number of people, so „1 Person" or „N Personen"

  • how long ago the reply came in

  • your guest's personal message as a quote, if they wrote one

The number of people adds up the guest themselves, their confirmed companion and the children who were signed up. It is not shown for guests who declined. Companions and children sit indented below the main guest, marked with „Begleitung" (companion), „+1" or „Kind" (child). If your guest did not give any names, you will read „Kind 1" and „Kind 2" there.

A click on a card takes you straight into that guest's profile, where you find all the details such as dietary needs and allergies.

When somebody changes their answer

Your guests are allowed to correct their answer, through their personal invitation link just as well as through the open sign-up on your page. So that a correction like that does not quietly slip past you, a card of its own then moves into the timeline, headed „Antwort geändert" (answer changed). It carries the time of the change and therefore sits right next to that guest's freshly updated reply, which moves up to the top as well.

The same happens when you change a reply yourself, after a phone call for instance. The card then carries the note „von dir eingetragen" (entered by you), so you can tell later what came in online and what you noted down.

On the card you see:

  • the guest's name, clickable as always, and for a companion the addition „Begleitung von …" (companion of …)

  • when the change came in and where it came from: through the invitation link, through the open sign-up, or entered by you

  • the old and the new status side by side, for example from „Zusage" (accepted) to „Absage" (declined). If the status stays the same and only some details change, it says „Angaben aktualisiert" (details updated)

A click on „Was sich geändert hat" (what has changed) unfolds the details. Line by line it shows what was there before and what applies now: answer, companion, children, dietary needs, allergies, song request, message, accommodation, shuttle, email and phone. The old value stays there with a line through it, so you can look up at any time what was originally written.

Good to know: Sometimes a golden note appears on the card with an email address or a phone number and the sentence that we did not take it over automatically. That happens when the details from the form do not clearly match the existing entry. Have a quick look and add them to the guest if they are right.

What this page cannot do

Here you only see guests who have replied. Anyone still open does not show up, and you find those through the „Ausstehend" (pending) filter in your guest list. There is deliberately no search, no filter and no other sorting on this page, it is meant to be a calm timeline.

Good to know: On your phone you find „Rückmeldungen" in the menu behind the menu icon at the top left, in the upper block next to the guests and the invitations. Through the search in the header it works just as well.

No replies yet?

Then the note „Noch keine Rückmeldungen" (no replies yet) welcomes you along with the button „Zu den Einladungen" (go to invitations). Replies can only come in once your page is published and your guests have their link. Once both are done, the first acceptance usually arrives faster than you expect.

Frequently asked questions

There is no number on the „Rückmeldungen" entry.
That is on purpose. The counter belongs to the entry „Gäste" (guests) and shows how many guests you are still waiting to hear from.

Why is a reply right at the bottom even though it is new?
Very old or unusual entries without a timestamp are sorted to the end. In that guest's profile you can see in the history when the reply really came in.

Will I notice when someone replies?
Yes. Every reply shows up as a notification under the bell icon in your dashboard, and you can also have us let you know by email.
