The RSVP status is the most important number in all your planning. It tells you how many people you can count on. So the numbers add up, it helps to know where the status comes from and why you cannot change it yourself.
The four statuses
Ausstehend (pending): the guest has not replied yet. Every guest you add or import starts with this status.
Zugesagt (attending): the guest said yes in the sign-up form.
Abgesagt (not attending): sadly the guest cannot make it.
Vielleicht (maybe): the guest is not sure yet. This status only exists if you allowed the answer „Noch unsicher" (not sure yet) in the settings of the sign-up section in the editor.
The tile „Ausstehend" above your guest list adds together the invitations without an answer and the „Vielleicht" replies. In the filters you can pull up each of them separately.
Where the status comes from
Only from the sign-up form on your published event page. The moment a guest submits it there, their status changes right away, you get a notification under the bell icon and the reply appears on the page Rückmeldungen (replies). If the guest replies through their personal link, everything is matched to the right person automatically.
Good to know: You cannot set the status by hand in your dashboard. When someone says yes on the phone, you have two options: you copy that guest's personal link through the three-dot menu and fill in the form for them, or you note the yes in the internal notes.
When someone wants to change their reply
With their personal link your guest can submit the form again at any time, and the new reply replaces the old one. Without a code that does not work: if the same name signs up a second time, the note „Du hast dich bereits angemeldet." (you have already signed up) appears. In that case just send your guest their personal link.
Sign-ups without a personal link
If someone opens your page directly, for example because another guest forwarded them the link, your page cannot match them to anyone. It then adds them as a new guest, with the group „Andere" (other) and the internal note „Offene RSVP (ohne Einladungscode)" (open RSVP without an invitation code). A companion they named comes along as an indented entry.
Here is how you tidy that up:
Open the new entry and look at the line „Notizen" (notes) in the card „Gästeinformation" (guest information).
Put the guest into the right group through „Bearbeiten" (edit) and add their email address or household.
If the person is now in your list twice because you had added them long ago, delete the old entry without a reply. The reply sits in the new entry.
These guests do not have an invitation code of their own and cannot change their reply themselves later.
Frequently asked questions
A guest says they replied but I still see „Ausstehend".
Most likely they replied without their personal link. Check whether there is a new entry with their name in your list, often right at the bottom in the group „Andere".
Can I collect replies without publishing my page?
No. The sign-up form only works on a published page. Everything about designing your page stays free until then.
Do children count towards the status?
No. Children belong to the main guest's reply and do not appear as guests of their own. They are included in the number of people on the page Rückmeldungen.
