Adding your billing address and downloading invoices

How the right address gets onto your receipt and how to find your invoices as PDFs later.

Written by Max Weber

Whether it's for your taxes, your bookkeeping or simply your own paperwork: every purchase with us is invoiced properly. You add your address once and then always find your receipts in the same place.

Entering your billing address

  1. Open Einstellungen (Settings) and go to the “Premium freischalten” (unlock Premium) tab. If you've already bought Premium, it's called “Verbleibende Laufzeit” (remaining term). Scroll to the “Rechnungsadresse” (billing address) card.

  2. Fill in the fields: “Firma (optional)” (company, optional), “Name”, “Straße und Hausnummer” (street and house number), “PLZ” (postcode) and “Stadt” (city).

  3. Choose your “Land” (country) from the list. Deutschland, Österreich and Schweiz (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) are at the top, followed by all other countries in alphabetical order of their German names. Germany is preselected.

  4. Click “Rechnungsadresse speichern” (save billing address). The button briefly shows “Gespeichert” (saved), and you're all set.

Nothing is saved without a name. If you've filled in the other fields and only forgot the name, a note right at the field reminds you: “Bitte trag deinen Namen ein. Ohne Namen können wir die Adresse nicht auf deine Rechnung schreiben.” (Please enter your name. Without a name, we can't put the address on your invoice.) If you'd like to remove your address completely, simply clear all the fields and save.

The address belongs to your user account, not to a single event. So you only enter it once, even if you're planning several celebrations.

How it appears on your invoice

Your address appears on your invoice and your payment receipt from your next purchase onwards, so also when you extend your term later. If you've entered a company, it comes before your name, for example “Musterfirma GmbH, Max Mustermann”. Without a saved address, the invoice shows what you entered when paying, usually the name on your card.

Your invoice also shows the VAT. For a billing address in Germany, it's 19%, and this currently also applies to addresses elsewhere in the EU. Your price stays exactly the same, because the tax is already included and is simply shown separately.

For the tax, Stripe needs your country. If you haven't saved an address, Stripe asks for it when you pay, and for the USA and Canada also for the postcode. If exactly that is missing from your saved address, Stripe asks for your full address and puts it on your invoice.

Good to know: It's best to enter your address before you buy. It always applies to your next purchases, and invoices that have already been issued stay as they are.

Viewing and downloading invoices

  1. In Einstellungen (Settings), open the “Verbleibende Laufzeit” tab (once your term has ended, it's called “Premium freischalten” again) and scroll all the way down to the “Rechnungen” (invoices) card.

  2. Find the right row. For each invoice, you'll see the date, invoice number, amount and status.

  3. Click “Download” to open or save the invoice as a PDF.

The status can be Bezahlt (paid), Offen (open), Entwurf (draft), Uneinbringlich (uncollectible) or Storniert (void). After a normal purchase, it says Bezahlt.

Frequently asked questions

I can't see a “Rechnungen” card at all.
It only appears once there's actually something to invoice, so after your first purchase.

The invoice should be made out to my company.
Enter the company name in the “Firma (optional)” field, ideally before you buy. On the invoice, it then appears before your name, for example “Musterfirma GmbH, Max Mustermann”.

My country isn't in the list.
The list includes all 27 countries of the European Union, plus Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Turkey, the USA, Canada and Australia. If your country isn't there, just write to us at [email protected]. If you previously typed in a country by hand that the list doesn't recognise, it appears at the very top of the list together with a note. Written that way, it won't appear on your invoice, so it's best to choose your country again from the list. Otherwise, Stripe asks for your full address when you pay.

My invoice is missing my address or shows an old one.
Invoices that have already been issued don't change afterwards. The address you save now will appear on the invoice from your next purchase. If you have a question about a purchase you've already paid for, just write to us at [email protected].

I didn't receive a confirmation email.
The purchase confirmation goes to your account's email address. Please also check your spam folder. You can download the invoice itself at any time in Einstellungen (Settings) in the “Rechnungen” card.

It says “Rechnungen konnten nicht geladen werden.” (invoices couldn't be loaded)
Reload the page once. If the message stays, just write to us at [email protected].

I'm only planning an event along with someone. Where do I find the invoices?
Invoices always belong to the account that made the purchase. If the person who manages the event unlocked it, the receipts are with them. That's why your „Laufzeit“ (term) tab shows no invoices of the other person, and the „Rechnungsadresse“ (billing address) card is missing there, because it only applies to your own purchases.

I handed over my event. What happens to my invoices?
Your previous invoices stay with you. If the new person renews the term themselves later on, though, you will no longer see them in the app. You still have your payment receipt by email, and if you need an old invoice, just write to us at [email protected].
