Telling your story as a timeline

How to add your milestones with a date, a text and a photo in the "Geschichte" section and put them in the right order.

How did you meet, when was the first date, how did the proposal go? The section "Geschichte" (Story) tells exactly that as a timeline. Every milestone appears on the page alternating to the left and to the right of the time axis. Your guests love this part, because it lets them get to know you all over again.

Adjusting the heading

Open Abschnitte → Geschichte → "Überschrift" (Sections, then Geschichte, then Heading). There you set the title (placeholder "Unsere Geschichte") and the subtitle (placeholder "Wie alles begann...").

Adding a milestone

  1. Open the "Meilensteine" (Milestones) accordion. The number in brackets shows how many you already have.

  2. Click "Meilenstein hinzufügen".

  3. Fill in Datum, Titel and Beschreibung (date, title and description). The date is a free text field, so "Juni 2020" or "Sommer 2019" are perfectly fine.

  4. Upload a photo in the "Bild" field or pick a suitable one in the "Stockfotos" tab. The crop is 16:9.

The description is a rich text field. So you can write in bold and italics, add lists and set links.

Reordering and deleting

  • Sorting: with the up arrow and the down arrow in the header of each milestone.

  • Deleting: the bin icon in the header of the milestone.

Entries without a title are simply listed as "Meilenstein 1", "Meilenstein 2" and so on. There is no limit, so tell as much as you like. Four to six stations usually look loveliest.

Good to know: When you add the section, four sample milestones are already in place. Replace them with your real story, otherwise the sample texts end up on your page later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a different layout, cards for example?
No. The timeline is fixed. You can adjust the color and the background of the section in the "Farben" (Colors) accordion further down, though.

The page says "Noch keine Meilensteine hinzugefügt". Why?
Then the list is empty. Add at least one milestone or hide the section until you have.

Do my guests see the story right away?
Designing is free, but the section only becomes visible once you have published your page with Premium.
