Everything your guests upload waits with you first. That is on purpose: no unflattering picture and no stranger's snapshot ends up on your page unasked. Approving is quick, you see every photo large and decide with one click.
Where to find the photos
Click Galerie (gallery) in the sidebar. There are two tabs at the top: Gäste-Fotos (guest photos) and Gästebuch (guestbook). If something is waiting for you, the number sits right on the tab, for example Gäste-Fotos (12).
Above the pictures you see four numbers at a glance: Gesamt (total), Ausstehend (pending), Freigegeben (approved) and Abgelehnt (turned down), each with its share of all photos.
Every card shows the picture, a coloured label saying „Wartet auf Freigabe" (waiting for approval), „Freigegeben" or „Abgelehnt", the name of the guest (or „Ohne Namen", meaning no name given), date and time, where it came from and, if there is one, your guest's message as a quote.
Approve, turn down, delete
Freigeben (approve): the photo appears in the gallery on your page. You briefly read „Foto freigegeben. Es ist jetzt auf eurer Seite zu sehen." (Photo approved. It is now on your page.)
Ablehnen (turn down): the photo stays hidden from your guests, but you keep it. It remains in your dashboard and is part of the ZIP download, there in the folder „abgelehnt" (rejected).
Herunterladen (download, arrow icon): saves the original to your device.
Löschen (delete, bin icon): we ask once, and after that the picture is gone for good. There is no way back.
Clicking the picture opens the large view. There you see the whole photo instead of the square crop, move on with the arrow keys or the arrow buttons, and find the same buttons again. Esc closes it.
Filtering by status and origin
Two dropdowns help when there is a lot to go through. Under Status you choose between Alle Status (all), Ausstehend (pending), Freigegeben (approved) and Abgelehnt (turned down). Under Quelle (source) you see where a photo came from: Galerie auf eurer Seite (the gallery on your page) or Foto-Einsammeln (the photo collection email). Next to it you always read how many photos your selection is showing.
The 500 most recent photos are loaded. If there are more, a note appears together with the button „Mehr laden" (load more). Nothing gets lost: older photos stay saved and are included in the ZIP download.
How you notice that something is waiting
The number next to „Galerie" in the sidebar. It bundles waiting photos and waiting guestbook entries into one single number.
The bell at the top right reports „Neues Gäste-Foto" (new guest photo) with the name of the guest. If several guests upload one after another, the same notice simply counts up instead of flooding your list. One click takes you straight to the gallery.
An email, at most once an hour. It arrives when photos are waiting for your approval and always names the current total.
Switching the emails on or off
Go to Einstellungen → Allgemein (settings, general).
Scroll down to E-Mail-Benachrichtigungen (email notifications).
Turn „E-Mail bei neuen Gäste-Fotos" (email about new guest photos) on or off. It applies right away and only to this event.
Good to know: switching it off only stops the email. The number in the sidebar and the bell keep telling you what is new.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still approve a photo I turned down?
Yes. Set the status filter to Abgelehnt and „Freigeben" appears on every picture again. As long as you do not delete it, you can always change your mind.
Does my guest notice that I turned their photo down?
No. They get no message and see no hint. The picture simply does not appear in the gallery.
Do I have to publish after every approval?
No. Your guests' photos run past your draft. An approval is visible on your page immediately, no click on „Veröffentlichen" needed.
I cannot find the gallery on my phone.
There is no room left for it in the bar at the bottom, the buttons would get too small. Tap the bell instead, every photo notice leads straight into the gallery. Or use the search at the top.
What does „Ohne Namen" on a card mean?
The guest left the name field empty, which is allowed. It changes nothing about the photo, you can approve it as usual.
