The date is set and the details will follow later? Then a save the date is perfect so your favourite people keep the day free early on. We do not have a separate save the date format, but you do not need one either: you simply use your invitation email and word it as a save the date. 💌
How to go about it
Prepare your page: the essentials are enough, so your names, the date and a lovely photo. You can add everything else later at your own pace.
Unlock Premium and publish, so the link in the email actually works.
Rewrite the template: open Einladungen → Per E-Mail versenden → E-Mail-Vorlage → „Anpassen“ (Invitations → send by email → email template → customise). Set the subject to „Save the Date: “ plus your names, write a short message and change the button text to something like „Zu unserer Seite“ (to our page).
Send it: through „Alle einladen“ (invite everyone) the save the date goes to every guest with an email address. Anyone without an address gets the link over WhatsApp or by text message.
Good to know: There is exactly one template per event. It is best to save your save the date text in a note somewhere before you overwrite it later. Then you can always look up what your guests received.
Sending the real invitation later
Once all the details are settled, the actual invitation follows. After the save the date your guests are already set to „Versendet“ (sent), so you have two options:
Through „Erinnern“ (remind): adjust the template first so it sounds like a real invitation. Then send it out again guest by guest in the „Versendet“ tab through „Erinnern“. Nice for small guest lists.
Through „Einladung zurücksetzen“ (reset invitation): in your guest management under Gäste (guests) reset the invitation in the three-dot menu. Your guests land back under „Ausstehend“ (pending), and after that you invite everyone at once again with „Alle einladen“. Much faster with a lot of guests.
Frequently asked questions
Can my guests already say yes with the save the date?
Yes, as long as the sign-up on your page is active. If you would rather have that later, hide the sign-up section in the editor for now and write in your email that the invitation with all the details is still to come.
Will anyone get the save the date twice?
No, as long as you do not reset anything. „Alle einladen“ skips everyone who has already been contacted or marked as invited.
Can I save both texts at the same time?
No, there is only one template per event. The text you saved last applies to everything you send after that.
